UNTOLD
WORLD PREMIERE: BIENNALE TEATRO 2020, VENICE.
UNTOLD, unspoken. What cannot be said cannot be processed and resolved. Cracks and inconsistencies emerge from the shadows of the removed, hidden elements leave marks and messages, press on the surface, demand to be brought to light.
UNTOLD is an introspective journey, the result of careful research into the potential of shadow theater. An on-sight projection of bodies and objects in which Illusion and the unveiling of artifice coexist. The language of visual theater blends with an original soundtrack that becomes an integral part of the dramaturgy.

“The merit and relevance of UnterWasser's work is that he has created works that deal with radically contemporary themes on essential issues without the need for words, without theorizing and from the humility of the simple craftsman playing with sticks, wires and lights.”
— Toni Rumbau PUTXINEL.LI
“A refined show, the result of intense research, and at the same time light and poetic, an existential itinerary that leads toward an awareness.”
— Rita Cincirrone, PANEACQUACULTURE
“Fascinating figure theater curated by UnterWasser, a company formed by three formidable thespians who show how to do high-level theater with shadows.”
— Walter Porcedda, THE GENERAL STATES
“A mature and honest show that lays bare scenic artifices only to disproportionately increase the narrative illusion, thus transporting us beneath that patina of silence where the most deafening words live.”
— Francesco Chiaro, PERSINSALA
